Effective October 30, 2026
InukMath (“we”) runs inukmath.com, a math practice website for children in Grades 1 to 6. Children use the site, but accounts and memberships are created and managed by parents, guardians or teachers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Parent / teacher account: name, e-mail address, password (stored encrypted) | To create and secure the account and to contact you about it |
| Membership and billing records (plan, dates, invoices). Card details are entered directly with Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers | To process payments, renewals and refunds |
| Learning activity: which lessons were opened (linked to the account, or to a random visitor ID when not logged in). Quiz answers are checked in the browser and are not stored on our servers | To count free lessons and give members access |
| Messages you send through the contact form | To answer you |
| Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited (server logs) | Security, fixing errors |
2. Children's privacy
We do not knowingly ask children for personal information. Children do not need to enter their name, e-mail, school or photo to use lessons, quizzes or games. We do not show advertising to children, do not use children's data for marketing or profiling, and do not sell or rent personal information to anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
3. Cookies
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
inukmath_uid | Counts free lessons for visitors who are not logged in (a random ID, no personal information) | 30 days |
wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* | Keep you signed in | Session or up to 14 days |
| Membership / checkout cookies | Complete sign-up and payment securely | Session |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site still works, but you may need to sign in again.
4. How we share information
Only with service providers that help us run the site — website hosting, Stripe, e-mail delivery — under contracts that require them to protect it, or when the law requires us to. Some providers may store data outside Canada (for example in the United States), where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
5. How long we keep it
Account and learning data are kept while the account is open and deleted within 90 days after you ask us to close it. Billing records are kept as long as Canadian tax law requires. Contact-form messages are kept up to 24 months.
6. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete the personal information we hold about you or your child, and withdraw consent at any time. E-mail us through the contact page. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
7. Security
The site uses HTTPS encryption, passwords are stored encrypted, and access to our systems is limited to the people who need it.
8. Changes
If we change this policy we update the date above, and we e-mail account holders about important changes.
