InukMath wants every child to be able to learn math on our site, including children who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, in line with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

What we do

  • Pages work with a keyboard and have a logical heading structure.
  • Images have text alternatives, and colour is never the only way information is shown.
  • Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content.
  • Quiz answers include written explanations, not only sounds or colours.
  • Lessons have written lesson notes on the page, so their content is available as plain text.

Known limitations

Some interactive lessons and games use animation or drag-and-drop and may not yet work fully with screen readers. When that happens, the written lesson notes and the practice questions on the same topic are the accessible alternative. We are improving these step by step.

Tell us about a barrier

If anything on InukMath is hard to use, please tell us through the contact page. We reply within 2 business days and can provide content in another format.
