Hi my super Grade 6 predictors! 👋

We can use probability to make smart predictions about what might happen! Today we’ll practice predicting outcomes using coins, dice, spinners, and real-life situations.

1. Theoretical Probability (What Should Happen)

Probability = Number of favourable outcomes ÷ Total possible outcomes

Example: Flipping a coin → Probability of Heads = 1/2
So if we flip 10 times, we predict about 5 heads.

2. Experimental Probability (What Actually Happens)

We do the experiment many times and record the results. The more trials we do, the closer our results get to the theoretical probability.
