Not all graphs tell the truth! Some graphs are made to trick us or push a certain idea. Today we become Graph Detectives and learn how to spot misleading graphs and biased data.

1. Common Ways Graphs Trick Us

Trick #1: Stretched or Squished Scales
The vertical axis starts at 90 instead of 0 → makes small differences look HUGE!

Trick #2: Missing Labels or Titles
No title, no units, no legend → we don’t know what we’re looking at!

Trick #3: Cherry Picking Data
Only showing data that supports one idea and hiding the rest.
