Today we learn how to compare two different sets of data! We use Mean, Median, Mode, Range, and graphs to decide which group is taller, faster, better, or more consistent.

1. Let’s Compare Two Classes

Class A Test Scores

78, 82, 85, 85, 91, 94

Mean = 85.8
Median = 85
Mode = 85
Range = 16

Class B Test Scores

65, 79, 88, 90, 92, 98

Mean = 85.3
Median = 89
Mode = none
Range = 33

Conclusion: Class A is more consistent (smaller range), but Class B has some very high scores.

2. How to Compare Two Data Sets

Look at the Mean → Which group has the higher average?
Look at the Median → Which group has the better “middle” value?
Look at the Range → Which group is more consistent (smaller range)?
Use Double Bar Graphs or Line Graphs to see differences visually
