Same Perimeter β†’ Different Areas!

For the same perimeter, some shapes have more area than others.

Among all shapes with the same perimeter, the square has the biggest area!

2. Same Perimeter = 24 metres

10 m Γ— 2 m

Perimeter = 24 m

Area = 20 mΒ²

6 m Γ— 6 m

Perimeter = 24 m

Area = 36 mΒ²

11 m Γ— 1 m

Perimeter = 24 m

Area = 11 mΒ²
