Today we’re learning how to convert between millilitres (mL) and litres (L)! These units help us measure how much liquid something can hold — like water, juice, milk, and even the rain that falls in Canada!

1. The Magic Rule

1 Litre (L) = 1000 Millilitres (mL)

To change litres to millilitres → × 1000
To change millilitres to litres → ÷ 1000

2. Let’s See How It Works

Example 1: 3.75 L = ? mL
3.75 × 1000 = 3750 millilitres

Example 2: 2500 mL = ? L
2500 ÷ 1000 = 2.5 litres

Example 3: A small water bottle holds 500 mL. How many litres is that?
500 ÷ 1000 = 0.5 L
