Today we’re learning how to convert between grams (g) and kilograms (kg)! These are the units we use to measure mass (how heavy something is). The rule is super easy: 1 kilogram = 1000 grams!

1. The Big Rule

1 kg = 1000 g

To go from kg to g → × 1000
To go from g to kg → ÷ 1000

2. Step-by-Step Examples

Example 1: 2.5 kg = ? g
2.5 × 1000 = 2500 grams

Example 2: 3500 g = ? kg
3500 ÷ 1000 = 3.5 kilograms

Example 3: 750 g = ? kg
750 ÷ 1000 = 0.75 kg
