Hi my amazing Grade 6 treasure hunters! 👋

Today we’re focusing on the First Quadrant of the coordinate grid! This is the top-right section where both numbers in the ordered pair (x, y) are positive. It’s the perfect place to start plotting points and creating fun pictures on the grid. Let’s go on a plotting adventure! 🗺️📍

1. The First Quadrant

The First Quadrant is where:
• x is positive (right of the y-axis)
• y is positive (above the x-axis)

All the points we plot today will have numbers like (3, 5) or (7, 2) — never negative!

2. How to Plot an Ordered Pair (x, y)

Example: Plot (4, 3)
1. Start at (0,0)
2. Move 4 units RIGHT along the x-axis
3. Move 3 units UP along the y-axis
4. Mark your point and label it!
