Using Loops and Repeating Events

With your kind teacher Mrs. Brenda ❤️

Hi my amazing Grade 6 coders! 🌟

Today we’re learning about Loops — one of the most powerful ideas in coding! Loops let us repeat actions many times without writing the same instruction over and over. This saves time and makes our code much smarter! Let’s learn how to use them! 🔄💻

1. What is a Loop?

A loop is a instruction that says: “Repeat this action again and again!”

Repeat 5 times: Clap your hands Say "Hello!"

2. Simple Repeat Loops

Example 1: Counting

Repeat 10 times:
  Print the next number
Example 2: Drawing Shapes

Repeat 4 times:
  Move forward 100 steps
  Turn 90 degrees

3. Loops and Math Patterns

Pattern: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, ...

Algorithm with loop:
Start with 3
Repeat 10 times:
  Add 3
  Print the number

4. Let’s Practice Together! 🎉

Question 1:

Write a loop to print the numbers 1 to 8.

Repeat 8 times:
  Print the next number ⭐

Question 2:

Write a loop that says "I love math!" 5 times.

Repeat 5 times:
  Say "I love math!" ⭐

Question 3:

Create a loop to draw 6 squares in a row.

Repeat 6 times:
  Draw a square
  Move right ⭐

Question 4 (Math Connection):

Write a loop for this growing pattern: 2, 5, 8, 11, ...

Start with 2
Repeat 10 times:
  Add 3
  Print the number ⭐

You are a Loop Master! 🏆🔄

Excellent work today! You now know how to use loops to repeat actions efficiently.

Loops are one of the most important ideas in coding and they help us solve problems faster.

I’m so proud of you!

Try writing a loop for something you do every day,
Mrs. Brenda ❤️
