Patterns are all around us β€” in numbers, shapes, nature, and even our daily routines! Today we’ll learn how to spot, describe, and extend both numeric and geometric patterns. This is the beginning of algebra and it’s so much fun! Let’s become pattern detectives together! πŸ”

1. Numeric Patterns

These are patterns made with numbers. We look for the rule that connects them.

Example 1: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, ...
Rule: Add 3 each time β†’ Next numbers: 18, 21, 24
Example 2: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, ...
Rule: Multiply by 2 each time β†’ Next: 64, 128
Example 3 (Growing & Shrinking): 20, 17, 14, 11, ...
Rule: Subtract 3 each time

2. Geometric Patterns

These are patterns made with shapes, colours, or sizes that repeat or grow.

Example: Triangle β†’ Square β†’ Pentagon β†’ Hexagon ...
Rule: Number of sides increases by 1 each time
