Fractions and decimals are just two different ways to write the same number! Today we’ll become experts at switching between them. This skill is super useful for money, sports stats, measurements, and shopping. Let’s get started! 🔄

1. Fraction → Decimal (Divide!)

Divide the numerator by the denominator.

3/4 → 3 ÷ 4 = 0.75

5/8 → 5 ÷ 8 = 0.625

2/5 → 2 ÷ 5 = 0.4

2. Decimal → Fraction

Use the place value and simplify.

0.75 = 75 hundredths = 75/100 = 3/4

0.4 = 4 tenths = 4/10 = 2/5

0.625 = 625 thousandths = 625/1000 = 5/8

3. Important Ones to Remember

1/2 = 0.5
1/4 = 0.25
3/4 = 0.75
1/5 = 0.2
2/5 = 0.4
