Describe Movement on a Grid!

From Here to There

Grade 5 Ontario Math πŸ“š β€’ Algebra

Hello my wonderful Grade 5 superstar! πŸ‘‹

I'm Kashef and today we're learning to Describe Movement on a Grid! We use words like "right", "left", "up", and "down" to tell how to move from one point to another. This helps us give clear directions on maps and games. Ready to become a Grid Navigator? Let’s go! πŸš€

🧠 How to Describe Movement

Start at one point β†’ Tell how far to move right/left (x) and up/down (y).

Example: From (1,2) to (5,4)

β†’ Move 4 right and 2 up

✍️ Examples of Movement

1. From (0,0) to (3,2)

3 right and 2 up

2. From (2,5) to (6,5)

4 right (same height)

3. From (4,3) to (4,7)

4 up (same x)

🎯 Describe These Movements!

1. From (1,1) to (5,4)

4 right and 3 up

2. From (0,0) to (0,6)

6 up

3. From (3,4) to (7,2)
