A coordinate grid is like a big piece of graph paper with two lines that cross:

Every point has an address called **coordinates (x, y)**.

First number (x) = how far to go along the bottom (horizontal)
Second number (y) = how far to go up (vertical)

Examples:

(3, 2) β†’ Go 3 to the right, then 2 up
(5, 0) β†’ Go 5 to the right, stay on the bottom line
(0, 4) β†’ Stay on the left line, go 4 up
