⭐ What is a Polygon?
A **polygon** is a closed 2D shape made of straight sides (no curves).
- It must be closed (no gaps)
- All sides must be straight lines
- It is flat (2-dimensional)
🔢 Naming Polygons by Number of Sides
3 sides → Triangle
4 sides → Quadrilateral
5 sides → Pentagon
6 sides → Hexagon
7 sides → Heptagon
8 sides → Octagon
9 sides → Nonagon
10 sides → Decagon
⚖️ Regular and Irregular Polygons
Regular Polygon: All sides are equal AND all angles are equal
Example: Regular pentagon, square, equilateral triangle
Irregular Polygon: Sides or angles are not all the same
Example: A rectangle that is not a square, an irregular hexagon
