A **kilometre (km)** is a unit of length used for long distances.

Important Relationships:

1 kilometre (km) = 1,000 metres (m)
1 kilometre (km) = 100,000 centimetres (cm)
1 kilometre (km) = 1,000,000 millimetres (mm)

🚢 How Far is 1 Kilometre?

1 kilometre is about the distance you can walk in **10 to 15 minutes** at a normal speed.

Fun Fact:
If you walk 100 big steps, you have walked about 100 metres.
So 1,000 big steps β‰ˆ 1 kilometre!
