Hello my dear student! I am Miss Brenda, your kind and caring Grade 4 math teacher π
Today we are learning how to compare decimals β which one is bigger, smaller, or equal. This is a very useful skill for money, measurement, and sports scores!
Just like comparing whole numbers, we compare decimals **digit by digit** starting from the left. Always line up the decimal points first!
Add zeros to make them the same length, then compare.
0.75 > 0.68ββ0.4 < 0.52ββ1.25 = 1.250
You are now really good at comparing decimals! Always line up the decimal points and compare digit by digit.
I am so proud of you for learning decimals so well. This skill is very important for money, sports, and measurement.
π You are smart. You are kind. You can do hard things.
When you are ready, tell me the next topic (Decimal Money Connections, Ordering Decimals, or anything else) and I will create another beautiful lesson just for you!
