🔢 What is a Tenth?
A tenth means **1 out of 10 equal parts** of a whole.
We write it as a decimal with a dot (decimal point).
0.1 = one tenth = 1/10
0.5 = five tenths = 5/10 = 1/2
🍫 Seeing Tenths
Imagine a chocolate bar broken into 10 equal pieces.
• If you eat 1 piece → you ate 0.1 (one tenth)
• If you eat 3 pieces → you ate 0.3 (three tenths)
• If you eat the whole bar → you ate 1.0 (one whole)
🏠 Decimal Place Value
After the decimal point, the first place is **tenths**.
0.7 means 7 tenths
1.4 means 1 whole and 4 tenths
2.9 means 2 wholes and 9 tenths

0.6 is bigger (6 tenths > 3 tenths)
