Hello my dear student! I am Miss Brenda, your kind and caring Grade 4 math teacher π
Today we are learning how to add fractions! Adding fractions is like adding pieces of a pizza β we just need to make sure the pieces are the same size first.
The easiest way is when the fractions have the **same denominator** (bottom number). Then we only add the numerators (top numbers).
We first make the denominators the same by finding equivalent fractions.
You are now very good at adding simple fractions! Remember: make the denominators the same first, then add the numerators.
I am so proud of how well you are doing with fractions. You are ready for even more exciting fraction work!
π You are smart. You are kind. You can do hard things.
When you are ready, tell me the next topic (Subtracting Simple Fractions, Fractions on Number Lines again, or anything else) and I will create another beautiful lesson just for you!
