Division means sharing things equally or finding how many equal groups we can make.
- Sharing: 12 cookies shared by 3 friends → 12 ÷ 3 = 4 cookies each
- Grouping: 20 hockey cards in groups of 5 → 20 ÷ 5 = 4 groups

🧠 Helpful Strategies
1. Use Multiplication Facts
Think: “What times 6 equals 42?” → 7 × 6 = 42, so 42 ÷ 6 = 7
2. Equal Sharing
Draw circles (groups) and share dots equally.
3. Skip Counting Backwards
To find 56 ÷ 8, count backwards by 8s: 56, 48, 40, 32, 24, 16, 8, 0 → 7 groups
