We multiply a 1-digit number by a multi-digit number using the standard method. We multiply each digit, starting from the right (Ones place), and regroup (carry) when needed β€” just like in addition!

  1. Write the numbers with the 1-digit number on the bottom.
  2. Multiply the 1-digit number by each digit of the big number, starting from the right.
  3. Carry (regroup) when the product is 10 or more.
  4. Add the carried number to the next multiplication.
