Today we are learning the most common way to write numbers β€” Standard Form! This is how we usually see numbers in books, on the board, and in real life.

πŸ“ What is Standard Form?

Standard Form is writing a number using only digits (0–9) and commas to separate the thousands. It is the shortest and easiest way to write big numbers.

Expanded Form: 60,000 + 7,000 + 800 + 30 + 4

✍️ How to Write Numbers in Standard Form

When someone tells you the number in words, follow these steps:

Steps:
  1. Listen for the biggest place (thousands, ten thousands, etc.)
  2. Write the digits in the correct places
  3. Put commas after every three digits from the right
  4. Use 0 for any empty places
