Hello my wonderful Grade 3 friends! Today Miss Kashef is so excited to introduce you to coding. We will learn about sequences (step-by-step instructions) and concurrent events (things happening at the same time). Coding helps us solve problems and create amazing things!
What is a Sequence?
A sequence is a list of steps in the correct order.
1. Wake up
2. Brush teeth
3. Eat breakfast
4. Go to school
If you change the order, things go wrong!
Simple Coding Sequence Example
Move Forward
Turn Right
Move Forward
Turn Left
Result: Robot reaches the treasure! 🏆
Concurrent Events (Things at the same time)
You can walk and talk at the same time
The fan spins while the light is on
In coding: Move forward and make a sound
Unplugged Activity 1
Give your friend instructions to draw a house:
1. Draw a square
2. Draw a triangle on top
3. Add a door
